![]() I'm Saved...What Now?? Congratulations! You are now a part of the body of Christ. This is the most important milestone of your life. Now, let's talk about where to go from here. You may have heard certain phrases such as "living this life isn't easy" or "I was doing better when I was in the world". Well, it doesn't have to be that way. You can enjoy the fullness of God without getting "tripped up" over certain stumbling blocks. How? First, there needs to be a spiritual transformation in your mind. In Paul's letter to the Romans [12:2] he admonishes them to do this so that they "may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." This is key to beginning your walk with the Lord. YOU MUST have a made up mind that you will serve God and stay in His will. Since His will is for us not to perish, then you're off to a good start! OK, lets take a pit stop. I wouldn't dare lie to you and say that this life doesn't have its downs. Yes, we fall. Yes, we stray. Yes, we struggle. BUT, take comfort in knowing that we serve an all-powerful God and He is "a very present help in trouble". (Psalm 46:1b) So, you have a made up mind to live for God. Whatever He says goes! Now, it is very important that you practice a continuous prayer life. I used the word "practice" because it takes time to develop. It helps if you think of prayer in its simplest terms: a conversation with God. That's it. Just talk to Him. Tell Him how good He is. Tell Him who He is in your life. Express your thanks. Tell Him you're sorry for anything you've done wrong. Ask Him for what you need, want, desire. Pray for others. You may not always know what to say, but take heart..."for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered". (Romans 8:26) In other words, the Holy Spirit makes our weak prayers effective. There are some things that need to be forsaken, and it is our responsibility as Christians to study God's Word in order to find out what they are. That's why it is very important to find a good church home; somewhere that teaches the WORD, the COMPLETE WORD, and ONLY THE WORD. If you don't have a Bible, that's OK, you have access to any version of the Bible you need right here on the web. A couple of sites that are good are BibleGateway.com and Crosswalk.com. God bless you and...
