Volunteer Requirements

1. Must be at least 21 years old
2. Must complete application and provide 4 references other than relatives.
3. Must participate in a pre-training interview, and pass KBI and SRS background checks.
4. Must participate in 30 hours of initial training and 4 hours in-service training annually thereafter.
5. Must observe two court hearings.
6. Must demonstrate an ability to be objective.
7. Must respect confidentiality of all parties.
8. Must be sensitive to issues of cultural diversity.
9. Must be committed to serving as a CASA volunteer for a minimum of one year.

Volunteer Training

Volunteer training is conducted three times each year. The next training session will begin in June 2008 (see schedule on the main page).

Applications are accepted year round. To be considered for the next training class, it is best to submit your application early. Interviews will be conducted in May and space is limited.
