![]() St. John 5:10-14
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?. And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Our ignorance may not always be obvious to us but it will still hinder us.
The Jewish leaders were as ignorant as the lame man but their ignorance was mixed with arrogance and pride (John 5:10, 16). A heart unwilling to learn is dangerous. The fact you have been doing something for years does not mean it is right.
This story was about people who could not see the obvious. There is more than one lame person in it. There was the man physically lame who got healed and the Jewish leaders spiritually lame who never saw the obvious. May God open our eyes to see the obvious things! May we never spend years waiting hopelessly at a pool. The good thing is that it is never to late to see Jesus. It is never too late to let Him intervene John 5:10-14

Our Affirmation of Faith Our Affirmation of Faith We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God. We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in three Persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin, is through repentance, faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ and being baptized in water. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who asks for it. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Holy and separated life in this present world, Amen. |
