Minisa Chapter Celebrates 70 Years!


Minisa members are very proud to be the third chapter to charter in the association, on March 5, 1942. Our sister chapter, Kaw Chapter in Topeka, was first to charter on February 11, 1942. At that time the association was known as the National Secretaries Association.

    Minisa Chapter's Scholarship Guidelines

    To assist individuals in achieving personal and professional growth, Minisa Chapter awards a scholarship(s) to a student(s) completing a degree or certificate program in business.

    NOTE: This application is due by MARCH 30, 2012 to be considered for the semester beginning fall, 2012.

    Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $350 per individual.

    Scholarships are not transferable to another party. Monies will be paid directly to the institution.

    Applicant must meet the following requirements:

    • Completion of high school education (diploma or GED).
    • Applied to, accepted at, or currently attending an accredited university, college, community college, or technical/vocational school.
    • Applicant must submit:
    1. Completed application
    2. An official copy of high school transcript or equivalent and college transcript, if applicable
    3. A copy of a letter of acceptance from the school the applicant will be attending
    4. A letter of recommendation from a non-family member.

    • Applicant may be invited for a personal interview.

    • Return all paperwork to:

    Minisa Chapter provides opportunity for scholarships without regard to race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, or age.


    At the February 4, 2010 chapter meeting, the members of Minisa Chapter voted to name the scholarship The Patricia A. Pickard, CPS Scholarship as a memorial to our friend and mentor, Pat Pickard, CPS. Pat was a strong advocate for continuing education and was always encouraging Minisa Chapter members to learn and grow.
