Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Gamma State Zeta Chapter

Zeta Chapter History The Zeta Chapter of Alpha Gamma State of Delta Kappa Gamma was organized on April 16, 1942. Charter Members included: Kathie Bryan Kelen Budd Elizabeth R. Collins Lela Cooney Bess Houston Sheila Johnson Mary Laytham Ruth Riley Sara Rives Irene Shaber Elma Taylor Isabelle Wallingford Lelia Poage Wood Arline Young

Meetings Zeta Chapter meets the 3rd Saturday of September, November, March and May. The meetings are held at the Ft. Mitchell Country Club in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.

Mission Statement
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Purposes
1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship. 2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education. 3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education. 4. To initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators. 5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to women educators from other countries. 6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action 7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.

UPCOMING EVENTS
At our May meeting we will be electing officers for the 2010-2012 biennium. Thanks to all of the sisters who have agreed to serve.

NO ITEM AUCTION
AT THE MAY MEETING WE WILL HAVE A NO ITEM AUCTION. THE MONEY FROM THIS EVENT WILL GO TOWARD OUR GRANT IN AID (SCHOLARSHIP) FUND. PLEASE DONATE THE AMOUNT YOU WOULD SPEND IF YOU WERE BUYING AN ITEM TO AUCTION (SUGGESTION: MINIMUM OF $20)
