housePhotoKY_campbell.jpgWELCOME TO FISHER HOUSE!

Our mission is to provide our service members and their families comfort, care and compassion while they receive medical care at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH).

At 7200 square feet and fully handicap accessible, we provide a comfortable “home away from home” that enables families to stay together in a relaxed home atmosphere.  We have 8 beautifully decorated guest rooms, each with private bathroom. Four of our rooms have a queen bed and the other 4 are equipped with a pair of twin beds. Also included in each room is a phone, TV, VCR/DVD player, hairdryer, iron, clothes basket, extra linens, games, books & movies. There is a twin airbed in the each closet for a third occupant and we have a few porta-cribs available.  We provide most toiletries - shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, tissue, shaving items, deodorant, etc.... The house is setup with wireless internet and laptops (as well as other items) are available for checkout. We try our best to provide you with all the amenities of home.

All guests are encouraged to take advantage of the rest of the house. Common areas include the living, family and dining rooms as well as the kitchen, laundry room and patio. Our cozy living room with gas fireplace, comfy furniture, and game table provide a great space for reading or meeting with friends & other visitors, as well as provides a workstation for those who need to get some work done.  The family room is equipped with a 55" LCD TV, VCR/DVD player, and full toy box. Its open to the kitchen so the whole family can spend time together while preparing a meal. Just outside the family room is the patio complete with outdoor furniture, playground, and gas grill. The patio is also equipped with an automatic awning.

We have a dream kitchen, with large center island, 2 ovens, 2 stoves, 2 microwaves, and dishwasher. Our cabinets are well-stocked with supplies including bakeware, dishes, glasses, utensils and food! Personal storage areas in the kitchen are also provided for each guest. Across the hall from the kitchen is the large dining room with seating for 20 people.  Just off the kitchen is a fully equipped laundry room with 2 washers and dryers. Detergent and cleaning supplies are all provided.

For those that wish to get some exercise during their stay, there is a mile-long rubberized track around the hospital with workout stations scattered along the way.

If you don't have a car while here, no worries, many of our post facilities are within walking distance - PX, commissary, theater, library, pool (indoor & outdoor), USO, bowling alley, post office, banking, etc...

*Currently, families pay NOTHING to stay at the Fisher House!

GETTING HERE

Fort Campbell sits on the stateline near Hopkinsville, Ky and Clarksville, Tn. There is easy access to the post just off Interstate 24 exit 86. Take Hwy 41A south. If you don't have a military/DOD ID, you will need to go to the Visitor's Center at Gate 4 to get a pass. The driver will need a valid license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance and anyone over 16 will need a valid ID to enter the post. Once you have received your pass, come through Gate 4 to the 2nd stop light. You will make a left at the light onto Bastogne (you will see a Bank of America on the corner), continue to the next light and turn right onto Air Assault (there are signs directing you to us).

If you have a military/DOD ID, you may come in at Gate 3, continue through the light and we'll be on your right at the main hospital entrance on Air Assault Street.

It's just a short walk across the parking lot to the hospital, making it easy to visit your loved one or get to your appointments without having to travel on/off post.

CARING BRIDGE

It can be difficult to keep friends and Family updated on your loved one's condition in the hospital. CaringBridge is a service that helps you with that responsibility. It gives you the ability to create a web journal in which you can quickly alert Family and friends of the latest information regarding your loved one's well-being. This is a free service sponsored by the Fisher House Foundation. Bridge the gap between you and friends and Family. It's simple to set up, and it's easy to update.
