front_view-small.jpgWELCOME!

Providing a temporary "home away from home" where military families can be close to a loved one receiving medical treatment at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (and other local hospitals) for an illness or injury.

We provide a comfortable, beautifully decorated, accessible home, for up to eight families at minimal costs* to the family. Entering through the front door, you will find nice wide halls, a cozy library and ample dining room. The library is equipped with a gas fireplace, lots of books, comfy furniture, games & game table, a computer and all-in-one printer (compatible with tablets and smart phones). The dining room offers seating for twenty and includes a high chair. Our dream kitchen is open to the family room and boasts two ovens, two stoves, two microwaves, and a dishwasher. Our cabinets are well-stocked with supplies including pots & pans, small appliances, dishes, utensils and food! Personal food storage is provided for each family in the large center island. Just off the kitchen is a laundry room and pantry equipped with two washers and dryers and all laundry supplies. The family room boasts a 55" flat screen TV, xBox 360, Wii, smart BluRay/DVD player and plenty of games, movies and toys. Just outside is the patio with gas & charcoal grills and a private playground.

Families are provided one of our eight guest suites. Suites have a queen bed, a pair of double beds or a pair of twin beds. Other amenities include a dresser, chair, desk, phone, TV, VCR/DVD player, iron, extra linens, & free WiFi! Each room also has a private, accessible bathroom with hairdryer and a full assortment of toiletries. To see pictures of our home, view our photo album on Facebook.

For those that wish to get some exercise during their stay, there is a mile-long rubberized track around the hospital with workout stations scattered along the way.

If you don't have a car while here, no worries, many on post facilities are within walking distance - PX, commissary, theater, library, pool (indoor & outdoor), USO, bowling alley, post office, banking, etc...

*The lodging fees are currently being paid for by the Fisher House Foundation!

GETTING HERE

Fort Campbell sits on the stateline near Hopkinsville, Ky and Clarksville, Tn. There is easy access to the installation just off Interstate 24 exit 86. Take Hwy 41A south.
Once you have received your pass and have come through the gate, continue to the first light. You will make a left at the onto Bastogne, continue to the next light and turn right onto Air Assault (there are signs directing you to us).

If you have a military ID, you may come in at Gate 3 when open, continue through the light and we'll be straight ahead on your right at the main hospital entrance on Air Assault Street.

It's just a short walk across the parking lot to the hospital, making it easy to visit your loved one or get to your appointments without having to travel on & off post.

**Although you may have been approved to stay at Fisher House, your entry onto the installation isn't guaranteed. To ensure you have the most up-to-date list of documents required to bring with you to request a Visitor's Pass, we encourage everyone without a Dept of Defense ID card to contact the Visitor Control Center (VCC) at 270-798-5047 PRIOR to travelling. Not all state driver's licenses are accepted forms of ID, be sure to verify if yours is one of them when you call.
Service members, family members, DoD employees, and federal employees with the DoD common access card, DoD uniformed services identification and privileges cards, federal personal identification verification cards or transportation workers’ identification credentials are not affected as these cards are authorized in DoD policy to access post.
The REAL ID Act grew out of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Congress tightened up issuance processes and documentation needed to get a driver’s license. Compliant cards must have specific security features to prevent tampering, counterfeiting or duplication of the document. The licenses also must present data in a common, machine-readable format.

For more information, visit http://www.defense.gov/News-Article-View/Article/643615/licenses-from-5-states-no-longer-accepted-at-dod-bases.
