Programs Wounded Warrior GroupWounded Warriors are defined as service members injured/ill due to deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) or Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Every Thursday we host a Wounded Warriors* group during lunch time. The purpose of this group is to promote mentorship and camaraderie within our Wounded Warrior population and to share information about programs and services available to them. Tables are set up in the hallways with a variety of literature and give-aways for our Wounded Warriors. Lunch is served about noon and is prepared by Fisher House Angels, Wal-Mart, Starbucks, or AUSA members. Guest speakers take the floor during lunch. After lunch, Soldiers have the opportunity to meet with each other for private discussion. To see who's speaking and what's on the menu, please check the calendar on the left. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please call Wendy Carlston at (270)798-8330. *Spouses, significant others, parents, and primary caregivers are welcome to attend. Topics and discussions at these meetings are sensitive and adult in nature, therefore, we can not permit children to attend. Free childcare is provided at the SFAC. If you need childcare to attend this meeting, please call the SFAC at (270) 412-6000 by Tuesday to register. Chipped Mug SocietyBeginning Sept 2009, the first Tues of each month at 1300 is a special time set aside for the spouses of our WT's. This is a time for you to get together with each other for a good old-fashioned hen party. Bring your favorite old, chipped mug for some coffee, tea, dessert and a fun activity. You will also get the opportunity to make new friends while learning to live in your new normal, navigate the MEB process, or get your questions answered. Monthly activities will be based on your interests, so please come by and share your ideas.
