The Fisher House is not a medical facility. Guests receiving outpatient treatment may stay at the Fisher House if accompanied by a family member or caregiver while receiving treatment. GETTING A ROOMReferrals to the Fisher House should be done through case management, social work, hospital staff, or the Soldier's unit. When making referrals, please be aware that we are not staffed 24/7, therefore, if you know arrival will take place after hours, weekends or on a holiday, you must pre-arrange check-in with the manager. Our office hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 - 4:30. A referral is not a reservation! We recommend you have a back up plan for your lodging needs - please call a day or two before your expected arrival to make sure we have a room for you. The Fisher House staff must know the name of everyone staying at the house. If you have a planned stay with us, please read through the house rules. OUR LIMITATIONSOur staff and volunteers are here to provide you with a comfortable stay in a home atmosphere. We can provide information & referral to programs and agencies that may be of assistance to you. However, please realize that we are not a medical facility, hospice or counseling center nor are our staff and volunteers trained to provide these services. No medical procedures can be performed in the house. We do not have hospital housekeeping services. We must minimize risks to all potential guests in the house. For these reasons, some families may not be permitted to stay at the Fisher House. GETTING HEREFort Campbell sits on the stateline near Hopkinsville, Ky and Clarksville, Tn. There is easy access to the post just off Interstate 24 exit 86. Take Hwy 41A south. If you don't have stickers on your vehicle, you will need to go to the Visitor's Center at Gate 4 to get a pass. The driver will need a valid license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance and anyone over 16 will need a valid ID to enter the post. Once you have received your pass, come through Gate 4 to the 2nd stop light. You will make a left at the light onto Bastogne, continue to the next light and turn right onto Air Assault (there are signs directing you to us). If you have stickers on your vehicle, you may come in at Gate 3 (with military ID), continue through the light and we'll be on your right at the main hospital entrance on Air Assault Street. Its just a short 2 minute walk to the hospital, making it easy to visit your loved one or get to your appointments without having to travel on/off post. CARING BRIDGEIt can be difficult to keep friends and Family updated on your loved one's condition in the hospital. CaringBridge is a service that helps you with that responsibility. It gives you the ability to create a web journal in which you can quickly alert Family and friends of the latest information regarding your loved one's well-being. This is a free service sponsored by the Fisher House Foundation. Bridge the gap between you and friends and Family. It's simple to set up, and it's easy to update.
