MOPS_logo_with_tag_line.jpgWelcome to the London, KY MOPS website!
MOPS stands for "mothers of preschoolers". There are over 3,900 local MOPS groups meeting in the US and around the world. MOPS International exists to encourage, equip, and develop every preschool mother to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. MOPS is about meeting the needs of moms - urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single and married moms and is for every mom, from conception through kindergarten.

It's being moms that brings us together - and wanting to be the very best moms we can be. The early years of being a mom are just as foundational to you as they are to your baby, and they're filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand.

God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. 2 Timothy 1:7

Bold • Loving • Sensible

MomSense: Bold • Loving • Sensible is our new theme for the 2011-2012 MOPS year. MomSense equips moms to embrace their mothering instincts and develop their own parenting style while navigating through the myriad of daily mom decisions. Developing a mothering strategy is somewhat like playing a game - and this year's theme is appropriately game related. Have fun being a mom! Playing games involves being bold and taking risks, loving those in the game with us and being sensible while figuring out what works and what doesn't.

Just as in real life, sometimes in games, unexpected, "chance" events occur, abruptly changing our paths. We must regroup and determine our next steps. Sometimes we follow the instructions of "experts." Sometimes we follow the advice of trusted friends. Sometimes we decide our "house rules" work best for our family. Teaming together with other moms is a great strategy. Relying on a spouse or mentor can help us play more effectively. And, most of all, developing a strong God-Sense is essential for mothering. Growing as a mom through the analogy of game playing assures every mom gains confidence in her abilities as a mom.

MOPS is about "celebrating motherhood; making connections with other moms; providing support and affirmation and experiencing God's love through relationships & resources."

During the 2011-12 MOPS year, we will explore together, being guided by an all-knowing, all-powerful, always-present God, knowing He will get us through all the hard spots, all our decisions, all our roles, all our times we can’t hold open our eyelids and the times we’re bursting with joy. God’s hand guides us as we guide our children.

    WHERE are my children?

MOPPETTS is a quality program designed specifically to care for the needs of infants, preschoolers, kindergarteners and home-schooled children. Along with our adult volunteers, South Laurel High School students join us from their classroom to work with the children. They are completing a special program through the school for Child Development. There are both students and adult volunteers, from Corinth, in each classroom. This program is offered for your children during our monthly meetings. There is NO COST FOR MOPPETTS. If you have any questions, please contact Holly Comley.
