Harrison Vickers Post 144, Gilbersville, KY was chartered in 1932. There along with the Ladies Auxiliary, we have a proud tradition.

Our fish fry was successful and now it is time to get ready for our Annual Turkey Shoot. There will be an Executive Board meeting on September 22, 2008 to make final preparations for the shoot. The shoot starts on October 4th at 5 pm and continues each Saturday at 5pm through the end of November. We need workers and we need shooters. If you cannot come to help, at least come to shoot. It is the main income for the Post to support it through until next year.
American Legion
There will be a membership drive held in front of Walmart in Benton on Friday and Saturday the 12th and 13th of September from 9 am to 5 pm. Please come and help us recruit members for our Post.
We usually have a fish fry 2 or 3 times a year. The first is usually sometime near the end of May, just before Memorial Day. The 2nd is usually near July 4th, and the 3rd is usually near Labor Day. Check the current events as dates draw near for exact times and dates.

Special Concerns
Please remember to pay your dues early to avoid additional renewal notices.
We need new members. Everyone please take time to recruit another member (at least one).
We would like to get a SAL Squadron going. Anyone who has sons and grandsons of Current or Former Legion members, please contact me with their names and addresses. I would like to send them a letter to try and get a Squadron built up. It would be a boost to our post and an additional way to help veterans.
