American Legion Post 144

Welcome to American Legion Post 144, Gilbertsville, KY

Current things happening

We will be having a Fish Fry on the 11th of August. The work begins early in the day. The eats at 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. It is $8.00 for all you can eat. Please come, we need your help.

Our Turkey Shoots begin the first Saturday in October and continue each Saturday through November. They will begin around dusk and continue until everyone is ready to quit for the night. Come and have a great time.

Annual Fish Fry

We usually have a fish fry 2 or 3 times a year. The first is usually sometime near the end of May, just before Memorial Day. The 2nd is usually near July 4th, and the 3rd is usually near Labor Day. Check the current events as dates draw near for exact times and dates.

Annual Turkey Shoot

We have our annual turkey shoot on each Saturday evening during the months of October and November. Check the current events as dates draw near for exact times and dates.

New members
Our new Post Commander Donald Butler has gotten us some new members. Let's build on that foundation. We must have active members in order to do the work of the American Legion.

Membership renewals
This year let's make it our goal to be 100%. We have not had 100% renewal in the last 2 years. We have had some deaths, but the regular members have not all paid their dues. Let each of us determine to pay our own dues and not have that happen this year.

Special Concerns
Please remember to pay your dues early to avoid 3rd renewal notices.
We have some new members now, but we still need you to pay your dues. At this time we still have people that have not renewed, please get it out of the way so we can move on from renewal notices. Everyone please take time to recruit another member (at least one).
The American Legion has many wonderful programs for both Post and Community. Let's see if we can get some of them going here again.
