Harrison Vickers Post 144, Gilbersville, KY was chartered in 1932. There along with the Ladies Auxiliary, we have a proud tradition of serving veterans and the community. "Still Serving."

We are doing some painting in the post. We have put up a sheetrock ceiling in the clubroom. We will be starting to do some painting and roofing outside. Please come, we need your help.
American Legion
Please support your post.
We usually have a fish fry 2 or 3 times a year. The first is usually sometime near the end of May, just before Memorial Day. The 2nd is usually near July 4th, and the 3rd is usually near Labor Day. Check the current events as dates draw near for exact times and dates.
We have our annual turkey shoot on each Saturday evening during the months of October and November. Check the current events as dates draw near for exact times and dates.
Remember April meeting is where we begin nominating officers for the new year. We need to fill those offices, but we also need people to show up and have a little pride in the post.
This year Tommy Waldrop cannot be Commander, because he is running for Area A Vice Commander and the distance he will have to travel will be too much to hold an important office this year.
Special Concerns
Please remember to pay your dues early to avoid 3rd renewal notices.
We have some new members now, but we still need you to pay your dues. At this time we still have 11 people that have not renewed, please get it out of the way so we can move on from renewal notices. Everyone please take time to recruit another member (at least one).
We currently have several men that want to be part of the SAL. Anyone who has sons and grandsons of Current or Former Legion members, please contact me with their names and addresses. I would like to send them a letter to try and give them a chance to get involved. We should soon have the organizational meeting and anyone wanting to become a charter member should be at that meeting. It will be a boon to our post and an additional way to help veterans.
