February Meeting - Special Shopping Event

Start saving your money! We have an opportunity to shop at our February monthly meeting. We are hosting area Red Hat clubs and showcasing Red Hat attire and accessories by Barbara from Le Le Boutique. In addition, there will be several door prizes. Numerous flyers have been sent, and we are expecting a large turnout if the weather cooperates. For this reason you must reserve and pay ahead of time.

A special lunch will be provided in the hotel's cafeteria for all reserved attendees. The menu includs: Baked spinach & artichoke chicken, Maple mustard crusted pork brisket over rice, Parmesan roasted asparagus, Steamed vegetable blend (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower), Herb roasted new red potatoes, Field green salad topped with bacon and hard boiled egg served with raspbeerry vinaigrette and the Chef's selected desserts.

The price will be $12.70 including tax. Reservations and advanced payment will be necessary. February 2012 Hoot

Let's go to the movies!

It is still too early to determine which movies will be shown on Wednesday, February 15, the date of our February hoot. But, we will meet at the front of the Rave Cinema at the Florence Mall at 11:00 a.m.

If 25 members and guests show up, the cost is $6 which includes a small drink and popcorn. Following the movie, we will have lunch at Barleycorns on US 42 in Florence about 1:30 p.m.

January 2012 Hoot

No hoot is scheduled for January due to potential inclement weather.

March 2012 Hoot

On Wednesday, March 21, we will travel to the Chauteau Pomije Winery at 25060 Jacob Rd, Guilford, Indiana for a wine tasting and tour. Their telephone number is 1(800)791-9463.

The cost of the wine tasting is $5 and includes the tour. Following the winery tour, we will travel for lunch at the Applewood Restaurant on the Ohio River at 215 Judiciary Street, Aurora, IN. Their phone number is (812) 926-1166

Meet at K-mart at 10:00 a.m. and give your driver $10 due to the distance.

March 2012 Hoot

A second hoot is being planned to shop at Charming Charlies in Crestview Hills Mall on Wednesday, March 14 followed by lunch.

We will meet at the store at 10:30 a.m. for a 20% discount and light refreshments.

Membership Dues

Please ensure that you are paying your $1.00 membership dues. The jug is passed through each table at every meeting. Your dues pay for the prizes for games played at each meeting and our annual Fall picnic.

Flower Fund

It has been decided that each of us we will donate $2.00 to establish a flower fund to be used in the event of one of our member's death. Kathleen D. will be collecting the money in each member's birthday month.

Shirley's Drawing

Shirley raffled off a precious doll after an emotional presentation about grandmothers and aprons. Many were touched by Shirley's account of her fond family memories as we considered our own grandmothers and the days gone by. Four members were chosen to be apron models and were given those very aprons following Shirley's remarks.

Congratulations, Kathleen, for being the lucky lady this month and getting Shirley's January doll, Raggy Dee "Melissa Ann".
