Welcome to the Sublimity Elementary Parent Teacher Organization website! We are an organization consisting of parents, teachers, administrators, and staff of Sublimity Elementary. We are looking forward to a new and exciting year! There are many ways for parents to be involved in their childs school and PTO is one of those ways. We truly need and appreciate any and all of the help that you offer because parents are VITAL to the success of our school. Thanks in advance for all of your time and effort!

Mission Statement

The mission of the PTO is to enrich the learning opportunities and environment at Sublimity Elementary. It will generate, gather, and distribute resources to supplement school programs and enhance the educational experiences of all its students. It will strive to maintain communication and cooperation between parents, teachers, and administrators to help ensure that students achieve their fullest potential and recieve the best education possible.

Upcoming Events

*Open House for Preschool and Kindergarten is Monday, August 9th from 5:00-6:30.

*Our new school year will start on Wednesday, August 11th.

*The next PTO Meeting of the 2010-2011 school year will be Thursday, August 18th at 6:30 in the gym. Whether you are wanting to volunteer, make suggestions, or just want to meet the PTO officers, please make the time to stop by. Parent involvement is VERY important to our school and our children.

Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels

We ask that you please keep collecting and turning in Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels. We earn cash back with the box tops and we earn points from the labels that we can use to purchase equipment for the school. With your support we have earned several hundred dollars.

Each semester we will reward a class that collects the most box tops.

Sign up now for Box Tops for Education at www.boxtops4education.com or click on the link on the left hand side of the page. Once you sign up for our school, we earn extra points. You can keep updated on our schools progress. Every point helps bring us money for the school!

What does the PTO do with the money raised during the year? Here are a few things we have done in the past year: 1. Received the Lowes Tool Box Grant! Will use this money to fix up the "Eagles Landing" area with new landscaping, trash can, and benches.

Reasons to Get Involved

1. YOUR CHILD BENEFITS

When parents get connected to the shool, children do better. Research shows children whose parents are involved get better grades, do better on tests, and have fewer discipline problems at school.

2. MEET NICE PEOPLE WHO SHARE YOUR CONCERNS

We all have a common bond. We care about creating the best possible educational experience for our children. We are neighbors and peers who share many of the same experiences. And many friendships have developed as a result of those connections.

3. WE'RE ABOUT PARENT INVOLVEMENT, NOT FUNDRAISING

In these times of tight budgets, parent groups everywhere are having to fill in the gaps, and so are we. But our number one goal is to get more parents connected to our school. That's because more than 300 independent research studies show that building parent involvement in education is the number one thing we can do to create a great school and improve student performance.

4. THIS WORK IS VERY REWARDING

It's seeing the bright light of learning sparkle in a child's eye. It's seeing the smile that shows we're making school a little more fun-and a child feel a little more comfortable in a learning environment. It's learning that test scores have risen and knowing we played a role. There are lots of rewards, both big and small, for those who get involved.
