Let's keep our neighborhood beautiful
You can tell a lot about the folks who live here by just driving through. Our restrictions require us to maintain our properties, but our residents go a step further to make their properties beautiful! That is the reason we all chose to live here, so please help us maintain our appearance by not parking on the grass and by monitoring your children and guests as they enjoy fishing in the lake and relaxing on the grounds. Please remember to pick up after yourselves and your pets in order to assure a pleasant environment for everyone...it's the neighborly thing to do.

***ATTENTION PET OWNERS***
We love your pets and agree that they are sooo cute...but nobody wants to step in their droppings! Please be courteous and clean up their "accidents" immediately. Also, we are afraid they might be hit by a car or stolen if they are roaming free, so please keep them under control and put a name/phone number tag on them in the event they get lost. We would much rather return your pet to you than take it to the animal shelter!

*** FISHERMEN, PICNICKERS AND DUCK LOVERS***
PLEASE HELP US KEEP THE LAKE IN BALANCE...IF YOU CATCH A BASS 5LBS OR OVER, DO NOT THROW IT BACK! OUR "FISHY" CONSULTANTS TELL US THAT BIGGER FISH WILL EAT ALL THE BREAM AND LEAD TO A DEAD LAKE, SO TAKE THAT MONSTER BASS HOME AND EAT IT FOR LUNCH!

EVEN THOUGH THE WEATHER IS COOL AND SOMETIMES DOWNRIGHT COLD IN THE WINTER, WE DO HAVE SOME SUNNY DAYS WHICH ARE PERFECT FOR LAKE OUTINGS AND PICNICS WITH THE LITTLE ONES...NOW YOU CAN WALK ALL THE WAY AROUND THE LAKE WITHOUT FIGHTING THROUGH BRIARS OR FALLING IN THE WATER. LOOK FOR LAKE ACCESS SIGNS IN THE COMING MONTHS!

Just a reminder...you don't have to live on the lake to enjoy it! The lake is open to all residents and their guests; please feel free to use the lake for fishing, taking an evening walk or picknicking with the kids. Some of our lakeside residents have provided benches and swings by the water, which you are welcome to use. Remember, the ducks are always hungry and we have plenty of bass, bream and catfish just waiting to jump on your hook!

UPDATES

PROJECTS IN THE WORKS

As you may have noticed, the back lake area has been cleaned out, and the nutria damage and erosion has been repaired. As the grass grows back in and regular maintenance begins, you can enjoy this park-like natural area to its fullest.

WE ARE HOPING TO HAVE THE COLLISION DAMAGE AT THE ENTRANCE REPAIRED SHORTLY; WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO LOCATE TREES OF THE RIGHT SIZE.

THANK-YOU NOTES

MANY THANKS TO OUR OWN RESIDENT, MIKE TANK, OF "OUTSIDE APPEARANCE, LLC, WHO DOES AN AMAZING JOB OF KEEPING OUR SUBDIVISION BEAUTIFUL! Mike also does private lots at reasonable prices. If you would like to get a quote for your yard, give him a call at 933-4101 or visit him on facebook.

THANKS ALSO TO MR. FRANK PIRIE, who did such a great job on our back lake dirt work! Mr. Pirie also does housewashing, sells & delivers pine straw, and does many other odd jobs. You can reach him at (225)301-1441, just tell him LABT sent you!

Neighbors in Action!
This group, here in Watson, should be of interest to everyone. Formed by the same group that led the opposition to the Loop's local impact, last year it exposed the actions of some local officials in attempting to locate a low income, high density HUD housing project in our community. You can access the organization's website at www.neighborsnaction.com.
 More about speeding
As you are aware, 3-way stop signs have been posted at the intersection of Rue de Fluer and Rue de Vior. These stop signs have really helped to slow incoming and outgoing traffic down Rue de Fluer. However, small children on bicycles are still darting from driveways onto the roadways without looking for oncoming vehicles. Please remind your little ones to watch for traffic when riding bicycles. We are all concerned about the safety of our children.
