At the end of the year we award scouts for achievements accomplished over the year. Below you will find detail requirements for certain awards and events.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE

You must attend every pack meeting and every den meeting that is scheduled.

UNIFORM INSPECTION

Our boys (and leaders!) are expected to wear a complete uniform to Pack events and should be ready for Uniform Inspections beginning at the October Pack Meeting and continuing through March. If the Cub Scout passes inspection at all of the above meetings he will then earn his award for uniform inspection.

The uniform (Class A) is from neck to knees, which means that to pass inspection you must have a Cub Scout regulation shirt, neckerchief, slide, all patches (i.e.: council, pack numbers, den number, fleur-de-lis purple patch and American flag. You should also have your rank patches/arrow points that have already earned affixed to your shirt in correct regulation pattern. Navy blue shorts or pants (any type), Cub Scout blue belt and buckle complete the uniform.

If you are a Webelos you may choose to wear either the olive green or blue uniform. The blue Cub Scout belt may be worn with the olive green outfit since the olive belt will not fit the Webelos belt buckle or fit existing belt loops.

You are not required to have a regulation hat or socks but you may wear them if you choose.

PINEWOOD DERBY

To qualify to race in our Pinewood Derby you must participate in 50% of all pack and den meetings. This is a mandatory requirement.

CUB SCOUT OF THE YEAR

For the past 4 years our pack has named one boy each year as Pack 221's "Cub Scout of the Year". Candidates can be nominated by the den leaders or pack committee. The pack committee will then make the final decision as to who will be awarded the "Cub Scout of the Year". To be considered for this highest pack honor, you must attend most events along with pack and den meetings. The scout must show leadership within the den and the pack, recruit members to join the pack, and strive to demonstrate the twelve core values of cub scouting.

The twelve core values of cub scouting are:

  1. citizenship
  2. compassion
  3. cooperation
  4. courage
  5. faith
  6. health & fitness
  7. honesty
  8. perseverance
  9. positive attitude
  10. resourcefulness
  11. respect
  12. responsibility
