YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING

All Adult Leaders serving in any role within the pack...den leader, assistant den leader, committee member, event chairman, etc. must complete the Youth Protection Training before serving in this role. All parents of scouts are also encouraged to complete the training as well.

NEW 2010 BSA RULE: Adult Leader Applications may NOT be submitted to BSA until the Youth Protection Training is complete!

To complete your training, open the pdf file below, click on the link provided on the training tutorial and follow the instructions. When complete, print and bring your card to the Cubmaster or Pack Trainer to be submitted with your application.

Also new for 2010: Youth Protection Training MUST be renewed every TWO YEARS!

Basic Leader Training & Leader Specific Training

All NEW leaders must attend District Basic Leader and Leader Specific Training. These one night training sessions are usually conducted in Fall and Spring at St. Timothy United Methodist Church. Check Scout Track calendar for dates and times.
2010 dates: September 28 & 30




LEADERFEST

Held in January, this all day training "fest" offers courses in everything from Dutch Oven Cooking, Den Activites, Nature Courses to Conducting Pack Ceremonies and much more!
This event is held in Baton Rouge each January. Pack 85 will pay the registration cost for any of our registered adult leaders to attend.
This event counts as one of the requirements towards earning your Leader Knots as well as providing a fun opportunity to get to know other leaders in our District!
