WELCOME NEW BUILDING COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Chris McGown, Mike Ward, Jim LeBlanc, Dean Weeks, Steve Mendoza, Claire Agnitti & Barry Rogers
As you know, the Clinton Council on Aging is continuing the search for a new Senior Center. With so many locations being presented and so many people committed to the issues facing our Senior Citizens, there should be a viable solution to move forward with very soon. Here is the wish list for a new center:
- Exercise Room
- Conference Room
- Natural Lighting and Air
- Radiant and Central Heat/Air
- Coat Room
- Computer Room
- TV/Reading
- Ample Parking
- Commercial Kitchen
- Banquet Area
- Handicap/ADA
- Private Office Space (3)
- Reception Area
- Knitting/Craft Room
- Outdoor eating/garden area
- Van Dropoff w/ Benches
The Clinton Council on Aging and the Personnel Board have approved the addition of a full time Outreach Worker to our staff. The growing number of homebound seniors in our community requires the commitment of a full time senior-focused social worker. The budget has been submitted to include the personnel changes recommended by the Council on Aging. Please be reminded that while the Senior Center has seen minimal increases to its budget over the last ten yesrs, it has continued to be a resource to a growing population living in fixed incomes, facing escalating fuel costs, healthcare costs, pharmaceutical costs, and medical issues.
