News and Reflections:

The task that remains is to cope with our interdependence-to see ourselves reflected in every other human being, and to respect and honor our differences.

*************
How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because some day in life you will have been all of these.

THE DEPARTMENT'S MISSION    The English Department's purpose and objective is to offer a program that provides students the opportunity to master the language arts, to develop strong skills in reading and writing, and to formulate critical, creative, and logical thinking skills that will encourage lifelong learning in their post-secondary education years and beyond. In this regard, the department's curriculum gives students the opportunity to examine religious and moral beliefs as represented in literary works, directly reflecting Holy Name's mission to inspire its students to apply Gospel values and moral principles as Catholic Christian witnesses in the world.
