WHEN APPLICATIONS ARE ONCE AGAIN BEING ACCEPTED, A NOTICE WILL BE POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE AS WELL AS IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS AND OTHER MEDIA.


Habitat's Family Selection Committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, their willingness to become partners in the program and their ability to repay the no-interest loan. Every affiliate follows a nondiscriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing the families who receive Habitat houses.

All information provided on the application is kept confidential and is used only for family selection.

HOW TO APPLY

With the applicant's permission, Habitat for Humanity Nantucket verifies:

  • Employment and other income

  • Checking and savings account balances

  • Statements from current and previous landlords

  • Credit history

  • Credit and personal references

Again, the information provided on all applications is kept confidential.



Habitat for Humanity Nantucket abides by federal and state laws that prohibit creditors from discriminating against credit applications on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, handicap, familial status, sexual orientation, ancestry, marital status, age (provided the applicant has the capacity to enter into a binding contract); because all or part of the applicant's income derives from any public assistance program; or because the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
