What is Mock Trial?

Mock Trial is an extracurricular activity just like an intellectual sport, where a team of Lawyers and Witnesses train to enact a real time case using actual Massachusetts Law

The Massachusetts Bar Association publishes an imaginary case including all the witness statements of each character involved in the case and all the rules of evidence procedures of the Courtroom and applicable Massachusetts Law to go with the issues being discussed. Using all of this, each attorney member of the team writes their own questions to ask specific witnesses in order to prove YOUR case. Each witness member of the team reads and learns the ins and outs of one of the imaginary characters in the case. They learn to act as that character and be able to answer any question that an attorney might want to ask them about their perspective of the case.

If You are interested in joining the Holy Name Mock Trial Team...
Then just start showing up to our meetings! Anyone is welcome.
If you are in 7th to 8th grade it's quite unfortunate that only high school students are allowed to actually participate in Mock Trial per the rules of the Massachusetts Bar Association. However, you are welcome to come to a meeting and see what we are all about!
