Holy Name Music Department
The Holy Name music department is made up of several performance groups. We include an award-winning band, chorus, select choir, and jazz band, as well as beginner and intermediate band programs.

2008-2009 Music Trip
The 08-09 music trip is planned to be a two night stay in Lancaster, PA. Activities during the trip include a visit to the Amish of Lancaster County, which is home to the oldest Amish settlement in the US! Also, we will be enjoying the thrills of Hershey Park. Thirdly, we will be going to the Millennium Theater, one of the most attended theaters on the East Coast. Dates are being finalized and will be posted shortly.

Announcements
The payment for competition is due on October 9, 2008. This payment is required for all students taking band, jazz band and chorus. The 40 dollars includes the cost of the bus and the fee of the competition.

Ensemble Information

Performances
ALL groups perform:

-Christmas: Two concerts open to the public and one designated for grandparents
-Spring:Two concerts open to the public
-Jazz Band/ I Band/ I Chorus Concerts: Two concerts per school year.
-Competition Festival: (Required this year)Not open to the public. High schools across Central Massachusetts compete.
-Mass Central Districts: Individuals compete to be involved in the Central Massachusetts District band. If interested in auditioning, the piece for your instrument or voice part is listed in the Music Room.
-Mass All-State: Students who place high enough in districts may be eligible to audition and play with the best across the state.
