Holy Name Music Department
The Holy Name music department is made up of several performance groups. We include an award-winning band, chorus, select choir, and jazz band, as well as beginner and intermediate band programs. |

Announcements
Our first Music Parents meeting will be held on September 23rd in the music room at 7:00 PM. All chorus and band members and/or their parents are invited to attend.

Our competition and trip to
New York this year will be
on Friday May 21st and
Saturday May 22nd.
The first payment of $100 is
due on Wednesday October 14th
The second payment of $100 is due on Tuesday February 2nd
The final payment of $150 is due on Tuesday March 23rd

The music department is in the process of selling a three manual Thomas Organ with a full set of pedals and a Lesley speaker. If you are interested please contact Mr. Burke.
The dates for this year's Christmas concerts are:
Grandparents: Wednesday December 16th
at 12:30
Thursday December 17th 1st concert 7:00
Sunday December 20th 2nd concert at 2:00
The Jazz and I Band concert will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at 7:00
The 2nd Jazz and I Band concert TBA in June
The Talent Show will be held on Wednesday, April 7th.
The dates for the Spring concerts are Sunday, May 16th at 2:00 and Tuesday, May 18th at 7:00.

Ensemble Information
Performances
ALL groups perform:
-Christmas: Two concerts open to the public and one designated for grandparents
-Spring:Two concerts open to the public. with reception afterwards (The senior awards will be given on this date). For the reception, the members of the chorus are asked to bring baked goods and band members A-M are asked to bring ginger ale, L-Z are asked to bring Hawaiian punch.
-Jazz Band/ I Band/ I Chorus Concerts: Two concerts per school year.
-Competition Festival: (Required this year)Open to the public. High schools from New England, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey gather to compete.
-Mass Central Districts: Individuals compete to be involved in the Central Massachusetts District chorus, concert band, jazz band, and orchestra. If interested in auditioning, the piece for your instrument or voice part is listed in the Music Room.
-Mass All-State: Students who place high enough in districts may be eligible to audition and perform with the best across the state.
