We Are #1!
For the third year in a row we have earned bragging rights as the #1 school in all of Massachusetts! We ranked #1 out of 2,201 schools in the state. We were also ranked #23 out of 100,127 schools across the country! We earned $7,611.00 this year that goes toward all the great programs funded by KPTO.
For the 2008-09 school year, Box Tops was the 2nd largest fundraiser for the KPTO (after the Yankee Candle sale). The KPTO uses the money to fund field trips for each grade, cultural enrichment programs at both schools throughout the year, and special programs such as Breakfast with Santa, the 5th grade tea, and the 6th grade year-end celebration. Those Box Tops really do add up!
Would you like to win a brand new PlayStation 3 video game? If so, attach 10 Box Tops to the PlayStation 3 collection sheet and pass them into your teacher. Complete as many collection sheets as you can -- 1 completed sheet equals 1 entry to the PlayStation 3 drawing! If you need extra collection sheets, you can download them from the KPTO web site www.kingstonpto.com. Please don't forget to put your name and your teacher's name on each entry! Good Luck!!! Contest dates: September 21st to October 30th. Drawing will be the first week in November!

Now that school is back in session, it is time to start sending in those Box Tops again! Look for information to be coming home in your child's backpack very soon. New Coordinators
This year we have two new coordinators for the KIS Box Tops program, Cathleen Donovan and Julie Dillon. Kim Cervantes will continue as coordinator for KES. We hope to be able to continue the great program that Rose started and keep our place as the #1 school in the state!

A huge thank you to Rose Mamakos, who has been the Box Tops coordinator for the KPTO for the past 5 years. Under her leadership the program went from earning just under $3000 for the 2004-05 school year to earning over $7600 for the 2008-09 school year. Rose has run some great contests and really generated a lot of enthusiasm for the program throughout the KES/KIS school community.
