Popcorn Sale 2008

WOW! What a great job to the families of Troop 110 who worked so hard to make this year's popcorn sale a huge success. We went well above our goal and you are all to be commended. A special thanks to Mrs. Boll for doing such a great job as popcorn Colonel from kickoff to delivery.

BOYS: Please try and get your popcorn delivered this week. Most customers would like to have it for Thanksgiving.

Some people were short on their Chocolate popcorn and we will be getting that to you asap (this week hopefully).

All money is due in by Dec 15th.

MASS JAM was a huge success. With over 7200 scouts and leaders camped out at the Barnstable Fairgrounds on a bright and sunny October weekend, it was an event that the boys will not soon forget. From the beautiful outdoor Saturday evening Mass to the day time activities of the scouting program, there was little time to hang around. We will be getting some pictures soon and hopefully putting some scrapbooks together. Anyone want to help?

CAN ANYONE SPOT TROOP 110 BELOW?

Hint: We had two blue easy-ups set up

December outing  COCOKEY water resort will be our destination for December. The cost is 20$ per person and we need drivers.

Friends are allowed to attend if we have enough room in the vehicles that are going. Brothers and sisters who wish to go will be accomodated first.

We will be reviewing the rules of safe swim prior to going on this event.Anyone not following the rules at the swim place will be asked to sit out until our swim time ends.

This swim day is Dec 29 and we will be leaving at 10am to swim from 12pm-5pm. There is a snack bar there but we will plan to bring a bag lunch to eat upon arrival.

THIS and THAT

ATTENTION: WEEKLY DUES CHANGE

Great job on remembering to bring your food item to meetings. After 3 meetings, we were able to donate 60 canned or nonperishable items to the Baptist Church food bankj which they were happy to deliver to a shelter in Worcester to feed some very needy people. This is how Scouting helps others. Thank you to all who participated. We will continue this in December.

TROOP GEAR!!!

If anyone has any Troop gear out, please clean it and return it.

COURT OF HONOR

We will be planning a Court of Honor for Jan 25th which is also our FOS Auction fundraiser and family night dinner. What are YOU doing to get something at this Court of Honor? We have several boys who have earned merit badges since Summer camp, and a few who have earned rank advancement. Keep working towards your goal of EAGLE Scout.

SPECIAL PROGRAM

POPCORN UPDATE:

Mrs. Boll, our popcorn Colonel, is pleased to announce that there are a number of boys that have turned in a full sheet and these have been faxed to the council office. Mike W and Gary D have both had their names pulled in the "fill a sheet" drawing and have been presented a $25.oo certificate to the Scout shop in Worcester. Thank you to everyone who has "Filled a Sheet." GREAT JOB SCOUTS and LEADERS!!!

The boys completing full sheets as of Oct 27th are: Joshua, Dominic, Gary (2 sheets), Mike W, Jacob, and Brandon. WAY TO GO BOYS!!!

AS OF 11/03/08 we have had 3 more full sheets come in. Thank you to Steven, Chris L, and Gary helping to complete a 3rd sheet. Talk about a TEAM!!!

Summer Camp 2009
Summer Camp will be $300 if paid in full by May 30th. After that it's $325. We are encouraging each boy to try and bring $10 each week so that camp isn't a huge expense come late Spring. Our yard sale fundraiser will again be used to help offset camp expenses for those boys who help with the yard sale.

WE NEED ADULTS

ALL PARENTS are invited to join the boys on outings. We need adults to sign up to help us on trips and at meetings. Any interested parent need only register with the BSA as a committee member. Registered leaders are also needed to do Boards of Review for the boys who are ready for rank advancement.

The BSA offers lots of training for leaders and I've found that this training is good for other aspects of your life. You will learn some valuable management and organizational skills. Talk to the troop Assistants for more details.

PATROL CORNER

Stay tuned here to this spot for each Patrol to have their own spot on this website. The Falcons, Pirates, and Cobras will all have their own area on this website to communicate with their patrol members. Start coming up with those ideas.

Pirate Patrol leader Mike W.

Cobra Patrol-George is patrol leader

Falcon Patrol leader is Tim B.

NOTE: The Cobra Patrol is down to 4 boys. Would anyone from the Pirates or Falcons want to move to the Cobras? I hate to ask you to but a Patrol of 4 just isn't that functional and we had a few boys quit who were all members of the Cobra patrol. Please let George know if you want to move to his patrol. Thanks.
