Morton Seminar Program

The Morton Seminar Program, founded in 2000, organizes seminars at colleges and universities around North America. Each seminar gathers together faculty from one department or school to read a chosen work on the subject of moral education through biography. The Program has four main purposes:
- To deepen teachers' knowledge of books that they can incorporate into their teaching and research
- To extend professors' own moral education and help them become better guides to students
- To foster community among academicians through serious conversation and conviviality
- And to refresh participants' experience of the delight of liberal learning
Some past seminar topics include the following:
- Shakespeare on Courtship
- Shakespeare and Moliere on Misanthropy
- Shakespeare on Jealousy
- Charnwood's Abraham Lincoln
- Plutarch on Demosthenes and Cicero
- Plutarch's Antony and Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra
