STATEMENT OF MISSION

Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:26-28)

The Christian Leadership Program provides opportunities for adolescents in the Holy Name Community, who have committed themselves to God, to give some of what they have received back to the community using their God given talents. As members, we continue to build our program and personal relationships with God upon a solid foundation of Christian values, enhanced by our Catholic Education.

As Christian Leaders, we are called to be stewards of God's Word in our school community and in our communities. Through this stewardship, we hope to strengthen our peers' relationship with God and provide opportunities for outreach within the school community, as well as the larger community beyond Holy Name.

As members, we live by the Christian values Jesus left with us including agape love, consideration for others, and self-respect. We motivate others through encouragement and by setting positive examples as role models. We are authentic in our words and actions. This program takes on the confident, dynamic, and welcoming personality of its members.

MEMBERSHIP

Outstanding members of the senior, junior, and sophomore classes can be nominated to become Christian Leaders. Nominations are from Theology teachers, but any teacher who sees that a student possesses strong Christian values and leadership potential may nominate students. Nominations are typically made in the early Spring and students are welcomed into the program in late April.
