Welcome to South Shore NOW!
The new South Shore NOW was formed in June, 2008. Our chapter is the southern region's chapter of Massachusetts NOW, the Commonwealth's chapter of National Organization for Women. South Shore NOW geographically spans from just south of Boston to the islands, and includes the counties of Norfolk, Plymouth, Bristol, Barnstable and Nantucket, expanding to Dukes!
South Shore NOW Massachusetts, in keeping with its goal to bring NOW to South Shore women, continues to meet from Quincy to Cape Cod and the islands - October venue is Bristol County - Meet us on the South Coast! Details below -

"Celebrity Culture Gone Haywire" Blurs Case, O'Neill Says

National Organization for Women (NOW) president Terry O'Neill said today that attempts to trivialize or dismiss criminal charges against film director Roman Polanski would undermine the message that sexual abuse is "Never OK."
There's no excuse for domestic abuse.
There's no excuse for "justice" to be complicit in it.

South Shore NOW, together with Massachusetts Protective Mothers for Custodial Justice, present in a forum for all women with children affected by family law in Commonwealth. In structured presentation and discussion we explore why the crisis in our family courts is a feminist issue, why the crisis in the family courts regarding child custody and visitation is a domestic violence issue, what can be done about it, and why all women and those who love them should care.

SOUTH SHORE NOW Actively Supports Passage of the below bills:1. An Act Relative to Updating the Public Health Laws (Senate Bill 1610/ House Bill 1745). This bill would repeal archaic, unconstitutional laws currently on the books in Massachusetts that limit abortion procedures and ban contraceptive sales to unmarried people.
2. An Act Relative to Providing Health Education in Schools (Senate Bill 218/ House Bill 3434). This bill would require comprehensive, age-appropriate, science-based health education be taught to all public school students in grades K-12.
