The 2008 Tennis season is right around the corner! Cara Joyce will be returning for her fifth season as head coach. Casey Bryant and Sarah Bishop will also be returning as assistant coaches for the Tigers.
TENNIS TEAM REGISTRATION
Tennis Team Registration form
Tennis Team registration can be done through the mail, by filling out and returning the Tennis Team Registration form from our website or by stopping by the Tennis Pavilion Tuesday, June 3rd between 5 and 7 p.m. The cost this year is $30.00 per child. Check should be made payable to “Andover Recreation Inc.” **Registration will continue once practice has started, or you may contact Cara Joyce at 410-534-8118 or 410-370-3639.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
The first practice will take place on Tuesday June 10th (the day after public schools let out). Practice schedules are as follows: 8a.m. – 9:30 a.m. for 14- 18’s, 9:30 - 10:45 for 12-13’s, and 10:45 to 11:30 for 11 and unders. For more information check out the website or see the Tennis Board at the pool for more details.
TENNIS UNIFORMS
We are keeping the same uniform as last year. They will be available the night of registration, and at practice throughout the season. The cost for each shirt is $25.00. They are both White Dri-Fit shirts with an Andover Tennis Logo embroidered on the left chest. Players are required to wear an Andover Tennis shirt and appropriate shorts or skirts to the matches. A limited quantity of tennis visors will also be available for $15.00.
TENNIS MATCH SCHEDULE The first tennis match is Thursday June 19th; we will continue to have matches every Thursday through July 17th. All match results, tennis news and updates will be available online. Our “in house” tournament is scheduled for the 14th, 15th and 16th of July. The tournament was a huge success last year and we hope to make it even better this year. The end of the year tournament for the Pataspsco Valley Tennis League is scheduled for July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd and will be played at Andover and North County High School once again. There will also be opportunities to play in USTA tournaments.
TENNIS CLINICS This year we will be offering Tennis Clinics for Beginner and Intermediate Juniors, Pee Wee’s and Adult Beginners. The clinics will be held throughout the summer. The website contains the Clinic schedules, cost & registration forms.
PeeWee (4-6 years old) An introduction to the sport of tennis for the little ones. ***Minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 8 students per session.
Junior Beginner (7-12 years old) For children with little or no experience. ***Minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 8 students per session.
Adult Beginner – for those with little or no experience.

ADULT PROGRAMS Once again we are also offering our Adult Tennis Nights. Starting June 21 and running through July 25th, we will be having WEDNESDAY NIGHT DROP IN DOUBLES from 7 to 9 p.m. It will be a flexible format and all levels are welcome to play!
