Jimmy Russell is an accomplished drummer, choir director and teacher, a dedicated father and husband. If you asked him how he’d like to be remembered he’d respond; as a child of God who’s mission was to be a vessel that led wayward souls into the Kingdom of God. In February of 1995, the Lord gave Jimmy Russell a vision. He told Jimmy to gather a group of God-fearing people who love to praise, worship and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He began to focus on "the vision” and what was, is now, a reality.

This ministry consists of various musicians who come from many different churches and denominations. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit, this music ministry’s only purpose is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who will listen. The joyful sounds of Jimmy Russell and BOC range from church hymns to the up-tempo sounds of today's new gospel. Everyone who loves music will find a message of faith, joy and God’s love through Jesus Christ. In other words, Jimmy Russell and BOC are not just messengers, but servants to the Most High God. We are happy to sing at church banquets, Christian activities and community fundraisers. BOC is honored to have shared their talent with: the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Unifest, The Black Family Reunion (NBC4 stage) the Power of One Community Festival. We have also been blessed to have shared the stage with many gospel artists such as Richard Smallwood, Vanessa Williams, Daryl Coley, John P. Kee, Vicky Winans, Steven Hurd and many others.

Our only request is that you pray for our continued growth in the Lord as well as our music ministry. We remain diligent and confident, taking comfort in the knowledge, that the prayers of the righteous availeth much and it’s only Because of Christ we are set free.
