Advent Bingo- A fun game that you can make.

Hangman- (Players try to solve the Advent mystery word). The teacher picks an Advent word that is written on a piece of paper out of a bowl. The teacher then starts the hangman game by writing a blank line for each letter in the word. Teacher then picks someone to guess a letter. (Write on the chalkboard the letters that were guessed that were not in the mystery word). If a letter is guess correctly, it is written in the appropriate blank(s) and that person who guessed correctly gets another turn. They can guess another letter or guess the mystery word. If the person is incorrect, another player gets a turn. Whoever guessed the mystery word gets to pick an Advent word out of the bowl and start the hangman game.

Christmas Angel- A cute craft of an angel that is made from using the child's handprints. (From The Hands Of A Child by Anthony Flores, page 25).
Doily Angel- A pretty angel made out of a paper doily. (The Kids Can Press Jumbo Book of Easy Crafts by Judy Ann Sadler, page 78 & 79).
Jacob’s Ladder- Just make the angel that is in this craft using cupcake liners and construction paper. You can also make the angel into a magnet by putting sticky-backed magnets on the back of the angel. (Crafts from Your Favorite Bible Stories by Kathy Ross, pages 16 & 17).

Paper Plate Angel- Make this cute angel out of a paper plate and metallic chord.
Stained Glass Decorations- This angel project produces a decoration that look like stained glass that can be hung on any wall. This project is fairly easy to do for children ages about 7 and older. It involves permanent markers and requires a bit of patience. You could also not use the paper plate and do it on transparencies (for overhead projectors). To make it easier for younger students, just have them color the angel, cut angel out, and glue on a small paper plate and decorate edges of paper plate with glitter. What God Made Bingo
Need: Poster board cut into small bingo card sizes, small pictures or stickers of objects that God has made and not made, milk caps to be markers, index cards.
Introduce art project: What did God make? This game should help you remember what God made.
Instructions: Cut poster board into bingo card size and draw a bingo board consisting of at least 9 squares. Glue small pictures or stickers of objects that God has made in spaces. Glue the same pictures (what God has made) and pictures of what God has not made on index cards and put in a bag. Students play regular bingo, but with pictures. The first one who gets three in a row (up, down, across, or diagonal) on their bingo card first, wins. Each student picks a picture card from the bag and tells whether or not God made it.
Creation ABCs
Call on a student and ask them to name something that starts with the letter A. Then ask the student if God made it. Go through each letter of the alphabet and have the students name an object and whether God made it. Give hints to those students that need help.

What did God Make? File Folder Game:
Directions- Print out Directions, cut it out, and glue on front of file folder.
Game Board- Print out Game Board, trim, and glue on the inside of the file folder. Make sure the directions are on the front of the file folder. Laminate or cover file folder with clear contact paper to make it last.

Lion Mask
Need: Paper plate, crayons/paint, stapler, paper grocery bag
Directions: Cut the center out of a paper plate and color/paint paper plate tan. (Note: Be sure to have students use old crayons and peel the paper off the crayons and rub the side of the crayon on the paper plate instead of coloring it. This will be a lot faster and easier for the students). Cut 2 ears (triangles 3 inches on all three sides) out of the paper bag. Staple ears to mask where ears should go on the back of the plate. Cut several rectangles for mane (rectangles 1 inch by 6 inches long) out of a paper bag. Staple mane rectangles on edge of mask on the back of the paper plate all the way around mask. Cut a strip (2 inches by 20 inches) out of the paper bag to make a band for the back of the mask. Staple on end of the strip to one side of the mask on the back. Fit the strip to the child’s head then staple the other end in place. Cut off excess band.
