 The SHOOTOUT at LEADVILLE
 Construction is Underway

The day dawned hot & muggy. You could almost smell it in the air. . . . . the SHOOTOUT AT LEADVILE was about to begin. For the past 24 hrs. gunhands of all shapes and sizes had been sneakin' into town. And now it was Showdown time. 37 shooters in all, a somewhat disappointing number to be sure, but a fine bunch of cowfolks to be sure. When the smoke cleared the next day, Leadville was to have its first champion. . . CHUCKEROO! and a fine champion he is. the rest of the top 10 looked like this:
- CHUCKEROO (ER)
- LAZY ROD (49ER)
- WILL KILYA (SR)
- TUG HILL (49ER)
- THE HIDESMAN (49ER)
- JUG BROWNING (CC)
- GRIZZLY JOE (SR)
- BULL SHOALS (CC)
- TANNER (49ER)
- HIRED GUN (T)
The girls of Leadville were onhand to welcome the shooters, one and all.
