    Confirmation Class to Begin

Families with 7th or 8th graders, or older kids who have not yet been confirmed are invited to sign up now for our next Confirmation Class. There will be an orientation session on October 30, then the class will meet immediately after the 11:00 a.m. service on Sundays beginning November 6. Parents will rotate providing lunches and the classes will last about 90 minutes. Confirmands will join the church as full members on May 20, 2012.

Our Puppet Ministry is back and rehearsing every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and we are looking for a few more hands to help us out. Come be a par of this inspiring group. See Bob Kells in church for more information

    Sandy Patrick Knowland

In Memory of our beloved friend and Web Master, Pat Knowland

So what is Liturgical Dance? Liturgical dance is a Christian expression of prayer or worship through body movement. Such dances can be accompanied by many different types of music. The dancers will respond with an appropriate dance which flows out of the music and enhances the prayer or worship experience. This dance may either be spontaneous, or have been choreographed ahead of time. If it is choreographed it is generally fitted to the song's lyrics or to religious concepts. Most often this is performed by women but occasionally by men as well. Liturgical dance is a relatively recent practice in the West, being virtually unpracticed until the twentieth century. However its antecedents go back to accounts of dancing in the Old Testament. An example is the episode when King David danced before the Ark of the Covenant. In other parts of the world dancing as a form of worship is much more popular. Today, Catie Boggs, Betty Anne Risley, and Danielle Stone perform "Amazing Grace". Enjoy this wonderful gift.

    WOW - Worship on Wednesdays

Our popular Wednesday Night Service will continue at least until Christmas. The service is at 7:00 PM in our sanctuary.

The sermons will be on the same topic as the message the previous Sunday, only the sermons are presented more informally. After each message there is a time of dialog, discussion or Q&A.

The purpose of repeating the message is two fold. One, if you are away for the weekend or on vacation, you can catch up on what you missed. Two, if something intriguing, troubling or confusing is stated, you get to hear the message again, and then ask questions afterward. Or you could bring a friend who “really needs to hear this message.”

We hope you will try these services out, and join us often.
