Disciple I: “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study” – Disciple I covers most of the books of the Bible over 34 weeks and is the pre-requisite for all other Disciple courses. It emphasizes the personal faith journey and spiritual gifts of the individual. It does not require any previous Bible study experience. Leader: Tammy Gausman.

Disciple IV: “Under the Tree of Life” – This 32-week class is being offered for those who have already completed Disciple I. Disciple IV concentrates on the “Wisdom Literature” of the Old Testament i.e. Ruth, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, etc. In the New Testament half, it studies the Gospel of John, the three books of John and Revelation. Leader: Bright Thompson.

Both Disciple classes are being held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 9:30 PM. An orientation will be held on September 8 at 7:00 PM and then the classes will begin on September 22. Generation Change

Give teens the skills to live wisely—for life! Sadly, few teenagers are prepared for the realities of personal finance. Only 51% know how to write a check, and only 34% can balance a checkbook. The result? The next generation spends money they don’t have, to buy things they don’t need, to impress people they don’t even like.

Dave Ramsey’s life-changing class, Generation Change, will be offered this fall to teens and young adults from 9th grade to 22 years of age. The class will begin on Sunday, September 18, during Sunday School. The class is open to anyone in the age range, even guests who are friends.

Pre-registration is not required, but because each student needs a personalized kit, we are asking for registration forms be turned in by August 20. This will allow for time to order and receive the kits. Students can register at the first class, but will just have to wait to receive their kits. Get a flyer and registration form at the back of the church. Then turn in your registration form to John Hastings, Carrie Summers, or Cheryl Smith. Financial Peace University Gearing Up for Fall Class

My wife and I have been so inspired and rewarded by implementing the spiritually guided teachings of Dave Ramsey in our personal lives and finances that we are going to be coordinating another FPU class starting in September.

The church’s 2nd class graduated in June and, in the process, 21 families collectively paid off $150,000 of debt, saved $40,000 and avoided spending $46,000 in just 91 days! To date, our two classes have collectively paid off $275,000 of debt, saved $67,000, and avoided spending $120,000 in just the 91 days that each group was actively in their class.

There will be a free preview on Sunday, August 28th at 11:10 AM at the church for anyone interested. The preview is approximately 30 minutes long. This is just a preview event and does not lock you into the course. It will be a 25-minute video giving an overview for the upcoming class. The next course begins on September 18 from 6:00-8:00 PM and will run through December 11. Cost is $100 per family and teens still living at home may join too.

The following is a 2011-2012 Class Schedule for Bruce's Monday Night Study Series. Classes are usually free, but you do have to sign up early!
