Meeting Minutes March 2006 Meeting was brought to order at 1915 hrs. Pledge of Allegiance, Reading of February metting minutes - Approved. No correspondence. Treasurers Report: $620.45-old account $500.00-new account. No other officer's reports. Leukemia ride on April 23, 2006, starts at Baltimore Harley Davidson. Registration is from 8-10am, ride starts at 10am. Cost is 25.00 for driver and includes shirt and lunch. $15.00 for passenger which includes lunch only. Brian, Kerri, Phil Schaub, George and Leona are riding so far. Anyone else interested in going let Kerri know asap so that she can let the trooper at North East Barrack who is organizing the local group know. Beast of the East is also on this day in Ocean City, MD. Members are planning a ride to the Fire Museum in Towson on May 13, 2006. Members are riding this Saturday March 11, and are leaving from Station 6 at 11am. Charities: Brick for Annapolis tabled until after the Joe Corbi's fundraiser. Fundraisers: Joe Corbi's order forms were handed out to those in attendance. She will make sure that those who were not there get the forms. Who ever raises the most monies will get a free fill on their motorcycle's gas tank. This motion was made by Dave Burkins, seconded by Brad McGuirk and passed. Since we are not allowed to wear colors on most rides, we want to look into getting t-shirts made. George Dorbert already has had someone give him a price. Gayle Fears possibly has someone else and will work with them and George and they will e-mail everyone with the results and try to get some done before the April 23rd Leukemia ride. Gayle Fears also has an isea for another fundraiser- Magnets either a maltese crosse or Red Knights. Idea tabled until conclusion of Joe Corbi's fund drive. Reviewed changes to by-laws. Motion was made by Bill Reeder to acccept the changes as Jerry Capute had made them as they were underlined, and seconded by Brad McGuirk and carried. Jerry will forward them to Brian without the underlines to be sent to the international. New Business. Brad mentioned that he is in charge of the bike show for Perryville Fire Company and with that he would like to know that if necessary he would have Chapter 6's help if he should need it and that they could set up a booth if the would like. Date is forthcoming and will be sometime in August. . March of Dimes ride in October, starting and ending at Ripken Stadium. 50/50 went to Brad McGuirk for $23.00. Next meeting scheduled for April 6, 2006 - 1900 hrs. at Company 1 Level. Meeting adjourned at 2018 hrs. February 2006 The meeting was called to order at 1941hrs. Charlestown was thanked for hosting the meeting for the first time! Business was to review the intitial changes to the by-laws that were made by Jerry Capute. Suggestions and deletions were made and it was decided that prior to approval, that they be updated and brought to before March's meeting with corrections and then sent to the international. Januarys meeting minutes were read and accepted. Treasurers report: Account balance of $730.45 Fundraising: Gayle Fears suggested we try to sell Joe Corbi's pizza as a fundraiser. Everyone agreed to give it a try. Order forms will be brought to next months meeting Charities: Leona Dorbert suggested we adopt a family or two at Christmas. In particular, a fire department family. If anyone knows of a Fire Department family contact Leona at jennyrose39@hotmail.com Brad McGuirk advised that the website issue was being worked on. (Since meeting new website has been established) Events: Ride accross Maryland is June 3rd and 4th. Nominations for elections were re-opened. Election Results were as follows: President-Brian Williams Vice President-Bill Reeder Secretary-Kerri Williams Treasurer-Gayle Fears Road Captains-Brad McGuirk, Dinghy Fears, Dave Burkins, and George Dorbert. Quartermaster-Phil Schaub Meeting adjourned at 2144hrs. January 2006 Meeting called to order at 1417 hrs. President Brian Williams advised everyone that Maryand 5 is losing members and may be falling apart. He does not want to see this happen to our chapter. The By-Laws were brought up and the fact athat we need to make changes to ours because they have to be reviewed by the international. It was agreed upon that everyone would look at them to see what changes they felt needed to be made andd bring them to the next meeting in February. Secretary/Treasurer Kerri Williams has been in contact with Ocean City who stated that the memorial is underway. The concrete is scheduled to begin any day and the paver and monument to begin in early April. The dedication will be on 9/11/06 RAIN OR SHINE. She will contact the parade chairman for details regarding our participation. Leona Dorbert is going to be working on charities and bringing those to the next meeting for a final decision. Bill Reeder is looking into information regarding this years March of Dimes Ride. Gayle Fears is now in charge of fund raising activities. Elections of officers will be held at the February 2006 meeting. Everyone is strongly urged to attend. Nominations of officers was opened this month and the nominees are as follows. President: Brian Williams, Dinghy Fears Vice President: Bill Reeder Treasurer: Kerri Williams Secretary: Gail Reeder Road Captain: Brad McGuirk, Dinghy Fears, Dave Burkins, Bill Reeder, and George Dorbert Quartermaster: Phil Schaub, Jerry Capute Nominations will be reopened at the Feb. meeting. Reminder that yearly dues must be paid if you want to retain membership. If you only want to ride along with us once in a while and would like to change your status then that is fine and it can be worked with. Let Kerri know. Dues can be mailed to Red Knights Maryland 6 27 Silver King Ct. Perryville, MD 21903. Dues must be recieved no later than January 25th 2006. Meeting adjourned at 1533 hrs. |
