The Multiple District 22 Convention was held on May 17-20 at the Dover Downs Hotel in Dover, Delaware. Our club was represented by Lions Dawn, Jim, and Lea. Lion Lea seemed to enjoy the experience of her first Lions convention here. Lion Jim kept her and Lion Dawn both busy at the Registration Desk for 22-C. We attended the Opening Business Session, the Sub-District Business meetings, where our club was awarded the Five Star Award and numerous Special Recognition Awards! We should all be proud of ourselves for our accomplishments. We attended lots of luncheons and dinners – that’s the good stuff! And then there’s the slots… And Lions Dawn and Lea attended seminars – they came away with some good ideas. At the convention, the delegates elected our next District Governor, Lion Bill Thomas from the Sandy Spring club and our next Vice District Governor Sandi Halterman, from the Gateway club. Lion Bill announced that his cabinet will include Cabinet Secretary Dee Hawkins, Cabinet Treasurer Don Beeson, and Administrative Assistant, Dollye Cooper. The convention will be held at Dover Downs again next year, so start planning now to attend. You get to see and meet a lot of really good people – Lions from other parts of the district, state, and region. The International President, Al Brandel was there – that’s an honor to have him appear at your convention. And he says “How ya doin?” And we all answered back “Doin good!” A really neat guy and his wife was also exceptional. They had to leave the convention early to go to Germany for another convention – what a life. Plan now – we get a break on the rooms, the meals were good (hey Corny, the seating for the Banquet was reserved!), and the camaraderie was fantastic.

Good Times
