Archdeacon Carolyn Marshall, DEAN

STATEMENT OF DOCTRINE

We believe:

That the Bible, consisting of all the books of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God, a supernaturally given revelation without error or misstatement in moral and spiritual teachings and record of historical facts.

In the Trinity – that the eternal God manifests Himself in three persons, God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God, but separate in personality and work.

In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal and visible return in power and glory.

That man was created in the image of God, that he was tempted by Satan and fell, and that, because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary for salvation.

That the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, though omnipresent from all eternity, took up His abode in the world in a special sense on the day of Pentecost according to the divine promise and dwells in every believer and that the gifts of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit in the lives of believers are visible demonstrations of His presence.

In the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

That God’s plan for this age as expressed in the great commission involved the evangelization of the world through the witness of every believer in Jesus Christ, the making of disciples through the teaching of His Word in the local church as a means of accomplishing His purpose.

MISSION STATEMENT

To engage believers in the cause of Christ, to equip them with knowledge of Scripture, a global vision for effective service in their local churches, communities and the world; and to strengthen local churches through the services of our students.
