Thought For The Week
14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
~ July 5, 2009
Jesus pays a visit to his hometown where you would think people might welcome him. The people didn’t seem to trust Jesus ~ his message was not to their liking or understanding. They wondered how someone with such humble beginnings could have acquired so much knowledge. Instead of listening, they immediately judged Jesus and put him out. How much are we willing to listen to others instead of judging how much we think they know? We never know who God is choosing to give a message to. If we do not listen, God can’t work within us. Take some time this week to have a conversation about something meaningful with another person. You may be surprised! It seems rather trite just to say thank you after over six years of ministering with you, especially after Sunday’s party. It will take a long time to digest all that happened, all that was said, and all that was given me. Each of you will get a special thank you in the weeks to come and you will be in my prayers as I rest. And, yes, I am going to rest…honest!! At this point in my life, there isn’t much more I can do! I will be at the Wellness Center at our motherhouse ~ 6401 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21212. 410-377-7774. I don’t have my computer set up yet. Thank you to all!
