Red Hat Society The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan. It was started by Exaulted Queen Mother Sue Ellen Cooper. We join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Those 50 and over must wear purple clothing and a red hat. Those under 50, fondly referred to as Pink Hatters, wear lavender clothing with pink hats. When Pink Hatters turn "50" they have a "Reduation" |
