Excerpts from Warning, by Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple,
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me

***

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised

is an Internet Only chapter comprised of red- and pink-hatted women from various parts of New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Our members range in age from 20 to 80. What do we have in common? We are good-natured, beautiful, unique...and modest! And like Sue Ellen Cooper, our EQM - and our 750,000 sisters - we believe silliness is the comedy relief of life. Our chapter (ID #38339) was founded on July 25, 2004, and we are officially:

REDDIE FOR FUN,

REDDIE FOR LAUGHS,

REDDIE FOR ANYTHING!

Celebrating a birthday this month is:

Alice, Her Highness,
The Contessa of Red Rose Tea
January 23

Ginger,
Queen Mum of Shamrocks & Surprises

How did you get your title?
"My youngest daughter dubbed me the 'Queen Mum.' 'Shamrocks' is a nod to my Irish roots, and I just love 'surprises.'"

What do you like to do for fun?
"I love going out to dinner, being with my family - three daughters, two sons, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons - and collecting teddy bears."

How are you enjoying the RHS?
"I'm having a great time, like getting dressed up in red and purple and had fun at Riccardo's and Jones Beach. I'm really looking forward to more outings."

Helen Heddie
(Our Mascot)

Helen leads a pretty full life for a head. She goes wherever she pleases, always has a smile painted on her face, rolls with the punches and NEVER leaves home without her red hat. She's proof positive that there's always time to have fun and get ahead!

Maybe you've already bumped into her. She's constantly out and about making new friends, seeing the sights and having a ball. In the coming weeks, we'll post more photos of Helen as she bounces from one fabulous place to another.
