More about Versatility is the word that best describes Danny. He continues exploring and refining his music, mastering his own voice and instruments, looking for the chance to create and add something special to his musical heritage, and repertoire. The result is that his music totally captures his audience and they become completely engulfed in his performances. The latest addition to his album collection is a fine example of his flexibility, with a beautiful selection of songs and a bit of Something for everyone who listens to enjoy. ************************************** A Quote from Danny: "Something to Remember" "ABOUT THIS CD: I put together eleven songs - five of which I wrote and others that I like very much. I love all types of music from pop to classic, to local. I cannot be stuck on just one type of music. I wrote "When Hawaiians Fall" as a tribute to Hawaiian entertainers who are no longer with us in body, but are with us in spirit and music. Most of these people are not pure Hawaiian, but are of mixed ethnic background. I'm not referring to race, but to the spirit of this place as follows: I chose Israel Kamakawiwo'ole ("Men Who Ride Mountains" & "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"), Loyal Garner ("Ha'a Hula"), Arthur Lyman ("Yellow Bird"), Gabby Pahinui ("Hi'ilawe"), Mackey Feary ("Night Bird" & "The Hurt"), and Moe Keale ("A Part of Me, A Part of You"), and gave you a hint of the songs that made them famous, and touched hearts locally, and around the world. I believe "Kuuipo" is the type of song for the ages. "Let's Go Back to the Country", is a song I wrote about the place I grew up and love, - not to minimize the importance of other places in Hawaii, because I love all "These Islands". Every place has its "country". "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You" introduces my daughter, Daena (her first time recording). I wrote "Tamara" because I love that name. I've included the words to the 4 new songs I have written, the rest of the songs are great songs and are self-explanatory. I hope they will all leave you with "Something to Remember", and that you enjoy the album. God Bless."
