DANNY COUCH TO TAKE BREAK FROM SHOW AFTER OCTOBER 15TH. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Friday, October 10, 2008
Honolulu, HI – Popular, multiple award-winning entertainer, Danny Couch, will be taking a break from his 18-month old show at the Sheraton Princess Ka’iulani’s Ainahau Showroom after next week. His last Wednesday-only show will be on October 15th, although Couch says this is just a break and he is already planning special event shows, like Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
“Yes, the economy is partly to blame,” said Shirley Cambe, Couch’s manager. “But we look at this as a good time to re-energize and even create a new show. We are so thankful to Danny’s many fans who have supported him throughout his career, and want to assure them he will be back soon, and will soon be releasing a new CD entitled “Danny Couch - I'll Remember You,” which pays tribute to the late Don Ho and his songs.
To say “mahalo” to his many local fans, Couch is extending complimentary cover (no minimum, no-host cocktails) to kama’aina and military for this last show:

A Dinner Show was also available with dinner at the Pikake Terrace Restaurant Buffet or Momoyama Restaurant, and includes one standard cocktail at the show. Both restaurants are located at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel on the Lobby level.

The Privilege of Being Part of the Development!
These entire projects are indeed Something To Remember.. Danny has entrusted his projects in my hands and allowed me to bring them to his fans. I have had the privilege of witnessing the development of his last CD, and it’s creation stemming from the time Danny asked me to debut his Teasers at his Fan Appreciation Site, to hearing the final tracks after production. Most of all, I enjoyed the thrill of bringing the finished composition/"product" to it’s debut, right now, to you! Danny's newest CD is now being debuted and the official release will soon be announced for Danny Couch Then and Now.
Mahalo Danny for this exceptional Honor, and for your confidence in me! We were the first to debut the early skeletons, a very unique happening on the inter-Net. Having taken them through the metamorphosis from bare bones to full creation. Seeing them being brought to life with the additional tracks, and refinement both instrumentally and vocally.
I would like to share with you a short conversation we had about....
"What it Takes to Produce a Music Cd"
"Music starts off with a Skeleton. It builds from that structure. You can hire a band, rehearse the charts, go into the studio and put out two or three Tracks at one time, and end up with a "Rhythm". Everything else has to still be put on from that point, the voice, voice overs, etc, which is called stacking is then done. These are done and added in different sections, the harmony, and additional instrumentation is also added. Included by stacking, are live strings (if they are used) synthesizers or keyboards which are called programming. The song, "It Might Be You" is a perfect example of the use of a combination of actual Live Symphony Strings along with the vocal used in one take as the recording to basically start the track. I built from there. Sometimes you cannot recapture the magic if you re-do a take, it becomes too mechanical sounding. There are other "Skeletons" which I build on using just the piano and myself singing as the starting point and I build around that, everything else adds onto it until you get the finished product. Baselines, strings and drums are what I personally work with mastering and building up the recording with.
What you hear finally have additional Orchestration, harmonies, Mixing and Mastering that occur which bring out the Glow!" A "Flat" is the first step in bringing out the rich tones of vocals and instrumentation. Mastering, will refine the effects in the final step of production. Both refining and peaking the instrumentation.. so it flows and separates beautifully.
