| Sadly, Ole passed
away August 5, 2008 Dr. Ole C. Kistler 74, was a family physician in Michigan, from 1966 to 2000. His wooden sailboat, Stormy Petrel, gave him great joy. He shared his enthusiasm for sailing with his family, giving them numerous fond memories of exceedingly exciting voyages Ole was a member of the AMYA, the Vice-Commodore and Soling Fleet Captain of the Naples Model Yacht Club, and EC12 Fleet Captain of the Ann Arbor Model Yacht Club. He was an extraordinary fine sailor, taught by his father at a young age. He demonstrated his racing skills many times at AAMYC, winning the 2007 EC12 and Soling Class Season Championship Ole was also always quick to help a fellow skipper, and he built several R/C boats for skippers too busy or without the skill required to build a fast racing machine. Having a loving wife, family, and friends who loved him dearly, and model boats, was all Ole needed to live a happy, fulfilled life. Ole will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Below are a few memories of Ole sailing. |
