American Business Women's Day The first American Business Women's Day was celebrated in 1982 by the Association. It is a national day for Americans to recognize the achievements of not only ABWA members, but also the millions of employed women in the United States. It is observed on September 22, the anniversary of ABWA's founding. In 1983 and 1986, joint congressional resolutions were passed designating a national observance of September 22 as American Business Women's Day. Following each resolution, President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation. |
