Our monthly collection during church services will help replenish our church family fund. This money is available for Arise UMC individuals and families in need.

The Arise United Methodist Church Missions provide support for families in need overseas, here in the United States, local communities and our own Arise congregation. One of our church "Strategic Initiatives" is to do "Meaningful Missions", and "Participate in hands-on missionary work." This missions webpage provides a calender of upcoming Arise missions, a list of missions committee members and contact information and examples of the ways the church provides hands-on support.

OUR PARTNERS IN FAITH

"We thank God for the partnership relationship existing between the two churches, though thousands of miles away from each other, but yet we experience the love of God in a very special and unique manner and ways.

Our major concern is to build a modern church building. The hand pump is already built. We have made 3,500 pieces of sun-dried bricks. The (existing) building is excessively leaking and falling apart gradually. We need your prayers and support."

A Year of Giving: Completed 2011 Arise Mission Projects

FEBRUARY

Responding Everyday Against Community Homelessness (REACH)

Arise provided meals, transportation and chaperones for two weekends for the county's homeless.

MARCH

Haiti Medicine Boxes

The Arise congregation collected $3,841.32 for the purchase of medicine to be sent to Haiti hospitals and clinics.

APRIL

Dress an Angel

Members of Arise provided new Easter clothing for 24 children through the Howell Salvation Army "Dress an Angel" program.

MAY

Arise Barn Sale Charitable Giving

Missions provided furniture, household items and clothing free of charge to individuals in need sent to us from area agencies.

JULY

Ice Cream Social

The summer ice cream social donations went to LoveINC.

Liberia Pastor Support

Our July Inside-Outreach collection was sent to Liberia for Pastor Support.

AUGUST

VBS Bottle Drive for Yeaway Camp, Liberia

Summer vacation bible school children collected returnable bottles, with all of the proceeds going to children in our partner church, Yeaway Camp in Liberia.

"One Great Hour of Sharing calls the Church to share the goodness of life with those who hurt."(The Book of Discipline)

Native American Ministries

This collection supports and serves to remind the church of the gifts and contributions made by Native Americans to our society.

Peace with Justice

"Peace with justice witnesses to God's demand for a faithful, just, disarmed, and secure world."(The Book of Discipline)

United Methodist Student Day

This mission "calls for the Church to support students as they prepare for life in uniting faith with knowledge." (The Book of Discipline)

World communion Sunday

This mission assists racial and ethnic-minority persons working toward careers in church related vocations.
