|COLOR MY WORLD WITH QUILTS|
This year we will have our 3rd bi-annual quilt show. It will be held on August 3, 2013 from 10AM to 4PM. Admission will be $6 with vendors and demos available. We will also offer a gourmet luncheon hosted by our in house chef. Vendors: Patchwork Earth, Creative Quilt Kits, Huron River Quilts, Guild Crafters, The Stitchery, The Quilting Seasons, The Stitching Well, Lake Street Mercantile, and Lee's Lilnes.
|OUR 3RD QUILT SHOW|
The show is hosted in St Patrick's Church Parish Life Center at 710 Rickett Rd., Brighton, MI. This is across the street from the Parish. No strollers allowed due to congestion.
Each year we have quilting retreats. The fall retreat is usually in Holmes County Ohio among all the Amish Quilt Stores. The winter retreat is in the Saginaw Bay area. The spring retreat has been held at Shipshewana, Indiana. These retreats are voluntarily programed by various guild members and are fun to attend. We also have guest speakers, workshops led by guest speakers, demos led by guild members, and so far two quilt shows. Our members are very active in sewing quilts for The Quilts of Valor organization that distributes quilts to the military personnel who have been affected by war; and the Linus organization that supplies quilts for kids. We also sew a raffle quilt to benefit LACASA, a domestic violence center in Livingston County, each year for them to use as a fund raiser.
