The Baton is Passed

After our very successful Spring concerts, Jennifer Davis stepped down in order to devote more time to the demands of work and family.

In September 2007 we were pleased to welcome back the original director and founder of the choir, Jerry Pakkala. Along with impressive credentials, Jerry brings boundless energy and humor to our sessions and we look forward to a successful season.

We are also delighted that Nancy Tazzia will continue as our pianist. Her talent and hard work are much appreciated.

(Bookmark this page now!) Our 50 member Choir (formerly known as Imlay City Community Choir) directed by Jerry Pakkala, has earned a reputation for presenting quality sacred music concerts. Because of that reputation, we draw members from various Michigan communities including Lapeer, Flint, Imlay City, Romeo, Rochester, Dryden, Almont, North Branch, and Capac. Many of our members sing in their own church choir as well as with our group. We perform concerts in December and also in May each year. We welcome new members.

We practice Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the Dryden Weslyan Church.

Rehearsals for our December concerts begin Monday September 15th. Come join us!

A $500 scholarship was awarded last spring to Katherine Lauwers, an Almont High School senior. She sang at two of our Durufle performances in 2004.

This is one of the projects that our sponsorship donations are used for. We intend to award more of them in the future.

Break Time!!! In the middle of our rehearsal we have a 10 minute break where coffee, tea & goodies are served. (Our social hour)

How do I join the choir? If you would like to join our choir, we practice Monday nights at the Dryden Wesleyan Church. You do not have to audition, we are a Community Choir, you just have to enjoy singing.
