Sandy's Make It Sew -- Livonia
Come to Sandy’s Make It Sew (28790 Plymouth Road - Livonia) on Saturday, February 20th from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. to help make blankets. No experience necessary.
You may bring along your own blanket making supplies and a Project Linus project to complete or simply bring 1˝ yards of a polar fleece fabric, or two 1˝ yards of coordinating fabrics in “kid-friendly colors.”
We will also be making some quick quilts. Please bring cotton fabric cut into 5-1/2” wide strips. We will cut it into different lengths. We could also use some borders, backs, battling and binding. Door prizes will be given.
Drop off completed blankets (see below for blanket sizes/types and dates) to qualify for the drawing to win a Janome machine. Blankets can be dropped off at any store below between December 1st and February 19th. In order to qualify for the Janome sewing machine, a blanket must be handmade with all new materials. They must be at least 48x54 inches and must be at least 2 layers (quilt top and backing OR quilt top, batting and backing). Single layer fleece blankets with a handmade finished edge, single layer crocheted and single layer knitted blankets will also be accepted. A ticket for the drawing will be given for each qualifying blanket donated. There is a very great need for larger blankets for older children and teens. Blankets can be dropped off at any store below between December 1st and February 19th.
