  • Second Quarter Placements for Practicum... Parent/Guardian,

Your student is scheduled to complete his/her Practicum during senior year. Practicum placements occur during the first, second and third quarters only. Practicum is not offered during the fourth quarter. I am in the process of placing students for the second quarter which begins on November 12, 2007. I am still waiting to hear from many of the students who have not yet taken Practicum. I have visited with the seniors many times during the core class periods and passed out the required handout and stressed the importance of keeping in touch with me regarding Practicum.

Your student can network with businesses in the neighborhood/community, contact parents of their peers, or call Human Resource departments in organizations to seek out a potential placement. This will assist your student in developing strong networking skills/strategies which is of paramount importance as they get ready for college.

Information obtained during Junior Workshop can be used in seeking a placement in any of the top three career pathway indicated by Career Cruising. Please call me at your earliest convenience so that we can assist your student in finding a placement. I am looking forward to hearing from you and working with your child as we gear up to complete the last two phases of the Senior Mastery Process. If I can be of any further assistance or if you would like to meet with me, please call 313-982-6192 and we can schedule a time to meet that is mutually convenient.

    Sincerely,
    Sandy Kesavan
