Dear Parents/Guardians, The Academy participates in a web-based program called Parent-Connect. This program allows parents to look at their children’s academic progress, attendance and several other school topics by way of the internet. To insure security, each student is assigned a pin number. You then can choose a password that will allow you to view the areas mentioned above whenever you have internet access. This program provides an excellent opportunity for parents to know how their child is progressing in each class. In order to have access to this program, please fill out this FORM and return it to Mr. Enright as soon as possible. If you have any questions before then please feel free to call at 313-982-6191. Parent Connect Web Address: https://zangleweb.resa.net/HenryFord/parentConnect/ HOMEWORK LAB Tuesdays & Wednesdays 4:00p – 5:00p Museum Campus Studio 9A and 9B Instruction and supervision provided by 8 HFA teachers who are highly qualified in their subject areas, including math, science, social studies and language arts Computer lab available for student use Supplies, including pens/pencils, paper, calculators, markers, etc will be provided during Homework Lab Snacks will be available for student purchase (fundraiser for HFA clubs) To register students need to send an email to homeworklab@hfa.spfs.k12.mi.us by noon on the day prior to the day the student wishes to attend. BLACKBOARD Each student is given a username and password. Once they log in, Blackboard will show the classes for which the student is currently enrolled. Currently not all HFA teachers are participating in Blackboard; therefore, some students will not see all their classes listed. While each teacher may set their ‘blackboards’ up differently, some of the things students may find on Blackboard are: unit objectives, downloadable worksheets, teacher contact information, daily agendas, helpful web links for writing research papers and online textbook resources. There are also resources supplied and maintained by Wayne RESA (a regional educational service agency that provides a broad spectrum of services and support to Wayne County’s 34 school districts) for math, social studies and science as well as online learning opportunities for students (i.e. practice tests and tutorials). While blackboard is not a tool for parents/guardians to use, it is important for parents/guardians to know that it is a wonderful tool for student use. Please encourage your student to take advantage of this program. |
