Providing Horse Adventures for Children with Cancer and Their Families. In the eyes of a child, life is full of wonder and adventure. When diagnosed with cancer, this world is turned upside down.
Life is no longer is filled with simple everyday family activities. Instead, it turns to tumors, chemotherapy, scans, spinal taps and an uncertain prognosis– only a few of the ordeals of coping with cancer.
Horses For Hope would like to extend its heart and hospitality to those children and families who are in need.
Horses For Hope is a 501 3c non-profit organization that focuses on a simple mission. We offer children with cancer (and their families) events to help them take their minds off their illness and the side effects related to cancer treatment. Our activities are aimed to share the personal growth and enhance self esteem that spending time with horses provides. Even more importantly, the events encourage families to share their stories with others. We realize that children afflicted with cancer have a lot of attention focused on them because of their illness. It is our goal to provide a magical day for the ill child, and a special memory for brothers, sisters, parents and special family members.
Horses for Hope began in 1999 with a one-day event - 'Chemo Kid Day' - a fun filled day for children with cancer and their families. This special event still continues, welcoming families from all over the state of Michigan.
Horses for Hope provides access to a variety of additional adventures to do on horseback:

- Group Lessons
- Family Lessons
- Private Lessons
- Day Camps
- Stable Management Classes
Horses for Hope's activates and operations are supported solely through charitable donations, fundraisers and the kindness of our many volunteers, with all of the funds remaining in the Genesee County area.
