Mask Articles The Mask is a Kappa Psi Fraternity Magazine which fraternities across the nation submit articles to. This is our contribution to The Mask magazine. Mu Omicron Pi has been going under drastic changes over the past several months at the fraternity house. With the generous donations by our Graduate Brothers we were able to acquire a new roof as well as undergo plumbing repair for the house. Also, our house has been undergoing additional electric repair. The house we live under would not have the opportunity to be repaired at such a high level without the aid of our Graduate Brothers. We are much appreciative of all the support and time invested that came before us. Without those before us, Kappa Psi would not be as it is today. Whether it would be through donations, designing the foundations of our fraternity, or devoting time into furthering our fraternity as a whole, we always remember that those before us are the reason why we are here. Outside of our house going under several renovation projects, we are very excited to have winter pledges for the first time in years. Our two new pledges are learning the methods Kappa Psi and the effort and dedication required to become a brother. Also, we have upcoming fundraisers this month. One of the fundraisers consists of our brothers visiting local food banks and distributing food supplies to the homeless of Detroit. Another event will be that our brothers will be attending the World Medical Relief to package and deliver excess medical supplies from hospitals to third world countries. Also, we are very excited for Province V meeting. Many of our brothers will be attending Province V and we hope to create new connections to our brothers in different chapters across the region. We are also ecstatic about Province V being held in the amazing city of Chicago. Some of our brothers have never been there and they really look forward to visiting the famed city. To our fellow brothers, Mu Omicron Pi looks forward to meeting you, and we hope to establish stronger connections through this meeting. Fouad Boulbol MOπ Mu Omicron Pi Wayne State University This year, the Mu Omicron Pi chapter of Kappa Psi became even more proactive in school affairs. We hosted a BBQ luncheon with the new incoming pharmacy students of Wayne State University as our way of welcoming them into the pharmacy program. The goal was to help them get settled into the school while giving them an idea of what to expect this up coming year, this also allowed them to get acquainted with the brothers of Kappa Psi and what we are about. We continued this momentum forward and decided to try something new, for the first time, our chapter is holding a fundraiser at Joey’s Comedy Club in Livonia to help raise funds for the fast approaching province meeting. Using the ticket sales as a gauge, it looks to be a very promising endeavour that will definitely end with a lot of laughs. Mu Omicron Pi is also looking forward to the annual food drive and our outdoor football game in the snow that occurs every fall and winter, as it has been a tradition for many years. Last but not least, Mu Omicron Pi’s Halloween party held every year in October after midterms as a way of winding down and vent out stress. Each year people come up with original costume ideas to trump the previous year winners which always results in many memorable Kodak moments. David Ly |
